Everybody says that you're gonna miss the student life once you begin your career, and I couldn't agree more.
Just 2 days in and I already feel like shit.
My colleagues have been friendly and very sociable. As you know I'm not that talkative, so I still need some time to get used to the dynamic with them. Lunch time can be a little awkward because I don't have much to say to them, partly because there's a slight age gap.
The office is actually beautiful. I have a lovely new desk, comfy chair, strong air conditioning, no trouble with getting free parking, the toilet is clean and well equipped, so I have no qualms about doing my big business there haha... Coz you know sometimes you avoid taking a dump in toilets outside of your home because it's not as comfortable/familiar LOL... Is that TMI?
Now let's talk about the shitty stuff.
I was given a series of tasks or I should say tests/challenges, and it turns out I SUCKED at them. Will not reveal so much about the nature of what I'm doing, but yeah..... I haven't been delivering and my supervisor seems a little disappointed, even though I'm still new, and obviously need some time to adapt and learn and improve.
That's not too bad actually. I know I will get better. Right now the thing that is killing me the most is the change in lifestyle...... The long hours at work, waking up early, getting stuck in after work peak hour traffic.... by the time I reach home I just feel like eating, showering then going straight to bed. There's not much time, or energy, for fun and games anymore.
It feels like I've been robbed of my sleep and vitality, and robbed of having a youthful and happy, free, easy going lifestyle. I expect pressures at work to increase over time, which is gonna suck even more.
Right now I've never been happier about WEEKENDS. Being able to sleep in, and run errands that I no longer have time to do during weekdays. Oh and going to the gym.... normally I'm so tired after work I don't have mood to gym anymore.
Hopefully my body and mind adjusts to this new lifestyle A.S.A.P.
Otherwise I'm going to get burned out eventually :(
Will try to stay strong!
XOXO
It makes you more discipline, and of course, a better person in life.
